As you enter MGM Studios you will find yourself at the threshold of Hollywood Boulevard. A walk along this "Golden Age" boulevard blurs the line between audience and performer as guests are surrounded by the sights and sounds of show business. Designed like a giant movie set out of the 1930s and `40s, Hollywood Boulevard is a captivating tapestry of neon, chromed art deco, and streamlined modern architecture. Large storefronts, strolling brass bands, and roaming actors dressed "the part" all enhance the Tinseltown atmosphere of this exciting street. At the far end of the street is a full-scale replica of Mann's Chinese Theater, home to The Great Movie Ride attraction. While waiting in line for this thrilling ride, visitors can view trailers of great Hollywood films such as "The Wizard of Oz," "Mary Poppins," and "Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark." Hollywood Boulevard, like Main Street at the Magic Kingdom, is teeming with souvenir stores and memorabilia shops. For instance, at the Crossroads of the World, in the middle of the entrance plaza, Mickey Mouse stands guard over Hollywood Boulevard from atop this small kiosk which sells various souvenirs and sundries. The Art Deco façade of The Dark Room presents an aperture-like entranceway to this small store selling cameras, film, and camera accessories. Find an array of clothing - most of which is sporting some kind of Disney logo - at the two main clothing stores on Hollywood Boulevard: L.A. Prop Cinema Storage and Mickey's of Hollywood. Each shop sells an array of clothing and accessories like T-shirts, pajamas, socks, wallets, sunglasses and more. These are just a few of the countless array of shops along this boulevard.
