In addition to splashing rapids and gushing fountains and waterfalls, passengers on the Kali River Rapids ride will also encounter a blazing inferno during their dramatic adventure.
The journey begins in the offices of Kali River Rapids Expeditions, where guests view a slide show about the logging business and how it has depleted much of our natural resources, plundered our rainforests, and deprived animals of their natural habitats. Nevertheless, the ride that awaits shortly after should cheer up any dispirited individuals.
Visitors board a 15-seat circular raft that takes them up a watery ramp and on through an arching tunnel fashioned out of bamboo. The voyage has begun. Soon passengers find themselves dashing along a meandering river of rapids in a misty rainforest-like setting, scattered with ancient shrines.
However, as the trip proceeds, visitors are met with several disturbing sights: a huge chunk of the rain forest has been gutted by loggers; much of the forest has vanished on both sides of the river; up ahead the river is choked by a tangled array of burning logs and the raft is headed straight for it.
