This is where the Disney Magic really casts its spell. There is nothing like the feeling of walking down Main Street when first entering the park. The colorful buildings and roaming characters set a mood that is really brought home by the sight of Cinderella's Castle in the distance.
The Magic Kingdom is where many of the park's most popular rides are located, and is the traditional starting point of the Disney experience, so get there at least 20 minutes before rope drop (the point at which people are admitted).
Divided into seven sections, the Magic Kingdom houses a mixture of childrens' classics like It's a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean along with some of the more wicked rides like ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter.

The first thing you should do is visit City Hall on Main Street. That's where you can pick up the maps and schedules you will find invaluable on your visit. There are costumed characters, daily parades, and fireworks displays that happen throughout the day. Disney prints a new park schedule every week, so pick one up and plan out your day.
