Safari Village is home to the Tree of Life, an unmistakable icon in the Animal Kingdom. Just like Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom, the Tree of Life reminds us that the Animal Kingdom (globally as well as in Disney) is a special place. As Safari Village is built around this icon, the sub-park also reflects much of the artistry and craftsmanship of the gigantic tree itself.
Safari Village is an amalgamation of the colorful marketplaces of Asia, Africa, and Polynesia. Disney hired 50 artists from Indonesia to create authentic original art for the park. While the art is undoubtedly intriguing, the main attraction is still the animals.
Surrounding the Tree of Life is the Tree of Life Gardens, a trail that that brings you up close to a variety of animals in their natural setting. Observe flamingos, lemurs, and other uncommon animals, as well tropical plants and wild flowers.
The gardens are a great preliminary to the "It's Tough to be a Bug" attraction, a terrific 3-D movie housed inside the Tree of Life.
As Safari Village is centrally located in the Animal Kingdom, many of the park's guest service offices are located here. Also on hand are numerous restroom areas, first aid, and the Animal Kingdom tipboard.
