The centerpiece of the Hollywood Boulevard is the full-scale replica of Mann's Chinese Theater, where the Great Movie Ride takes place. As surrounds the original theater in Los Angeles, the handprints of celebrities are encased in the sidewalks outside the structure, adding to the Hollywood setting.
Inside the theater, the Great Movie Ride is a unique adventure that re-creates the greatest moments in movie history, using live actors, animatronic replicas, and huge studio sets. Only older visitors or people who have seen most of the films will truly appreciate the stroll down movie memory lane. However, kids may enjoy the combination of live and animatronic action.
As an audience member riding the tram past a variety of film scenes, you'll end up in the middle of a 1920's gangster shootout, ride through Alien spacecraft, and visit the Wizard of OZ all within 22 minutes. The big climax at the end involves three screens all going at once to display even more memorable film moments, including scenes from "Gone With The Wind" and "Roger Rabbit."
