Each day Universal Studios puts 12,500 foam balls and 15,000 gallons of water in the hands of children at its Woody Woodpecker's KidZone. And here, no one is ever really sure of what will happen next.
At Woody Woodpecker's KidZone kids are surrounded by more squirters, shooters, gadgets, gizmos, and water than they have seen in their lives - including two 500-gallon buckets that regularly drop water onto the street. There is also a special kid's roller coaster built just to help parents tear their children away from the frenzy.
Dedicated to kids - and to adults who want to act like kids - Woody Woodpecker's KidZone combines two attractions based on beloved children's characters - Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster and Curious George Goes to Town - with the best of what children and their families already love about Universal Studios Florida: the Animal Actors Stage, A Day in the Park with Barney, Fievel's Playland, and E.T. Adventure.
Guests entering KidZone are greeted by a grand marquee, splashing graphics and KidZone music. The roller coaster is kid-friendly and looks as if it were built by Woody himself. Kids and their parents careen along an 800-foot-long track through a factory filled with kid-friendly gears and gadgetry in cars that resemble crates.
The Curious George Goes to Town area captures the chaos of the curious little monkey's misadventures, combining toddler play, water-based play, and a hands-on interactive ball area to create a unique playground. In this attraction, Curious George has wreaked his mischievous havoc by letting the animals out of their cages and he's left the cages open for kids to climb through. Moving through a city area, kids can climb through buildings and grab at pumps, hoses, valves, or levers. Also in this area, kids are able to shoot foam balls and spray water.
Following George's footsteps through the main gate into the town's plaza area, children find themselves in a watery wonderland of mischievous fun. Using pumps, valves, and hoses in the town's buildings they can spray, spritz, sputter, and splash their friends and families.
If staying dry is more appealing, kids can follow more footprints to the Ball Factory, where they will shoot, dump, and blast thousands of foam balls.
And if water and flying foam balls are a little overwhelming, parents of curious little ones can head to a park-like area with a colorful show tent. Toddlers can enjoy a variety of play areas including climbers, fun interactive games, and a small pop-jet area.
